A lot of people don't like the Giants' chances of repeating after the retirement of Michael Strahan, a seven-time Pro Bowl defensive end; the season-ending knee injury to Osi Umenyiora, a fellow Pro Bowl defensive end; and the trade of Jeremy Shockey, a former Pro Bowl tight end, to New Orleans. Their odds of repeating are 25-1, according to John Avello, director of race and sports operations at Wynn Las Vegas. Winston-Salem Journal
i hink bc there defense did very well in SB and the that Run leading up to it. but they lose one CB, the lose gap tooth and osi i mean those arent guys ya can just plug in and get the same results
I think people see our SB win as more of a fluke, we blatently weren't the best team in football, but we were the best team on the day. So peoples percieved chance of us repeating is lowered. I think this is healthy for the team to be honest. Try to get back some of that "us and them" attitude that they had last year.
We never really get much respect. I'm gonna say this, I was worried when we let all of those people go. I mean we let Gibril Wilson go, he lead the team in interceptions. We let Kawika Mitchell and Reggie Torbor go. We just let a lot of high class players and after seeing us play the first game I wasn't to disappointed. Yes it was the Redskins but whatever, a Wins a win.
Steve Spagnulo is one of the best young defensive minds in the league right now. if anyone can mask the team's faults, it's him. he did a great job masking the secondary last year.
