In this past Sunday's 20-12 loss to the Indianapolis Colts at MetLife Stadium, New York Giants cornerback Aaron Ross was called for a 15-yard facemask penalty during the second quarter while trying to tackle Colts wide receiver Reggie Wayne. On Friday, the NFL announced that is has fined Ross $7,785 for a flagrant facemask penalty, as Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News reported; the penalty occurred early on in the second quarter after Wayne caught a six-yard pass from Andrew Luck, which then lead to Ross getting called for the 15-yard infraction. "Giants CB Aaron Ross has been fined $7,785 for a flagrant facemask against WR Reggie Wayne last Sunday night against the Colts," he tweeted. Ross nearly had an interception while covering Wayne, as he went to pick off Luck's pass, but the ball bounced off his hands, up into the air, and off Wayne's hands into the end zone for a first-quarter, 28-yard touchdown that put the Colts ahead 7-3 at the time. Wayne finished the game with three catches for 37 yards and a touchdown against the Giants with Ross covering him most of the game. Source: SportsMedia101
