Kenny Phillips is upbeat about his recovery two days after undergoing microfracture surgery on his left knee to end what he thought might have been a Pro Bowl season. The safety told the New York Giants Web site that he plans a 100 percent recovery from patellofemoral arthritis, an unusual condition for a second-year player. He was at the team’s facility to begin the arduous rehabilitation process that will keep him from running for four or five months. “It's definitely hard to be around, I might run out there,†Phillips said. “So I am going to try and stay away from the game as much as possible. I talked to Osi (Umenyiora) and asked him what he did last year and he pretty much tried to stay away from it as much as he could, because the more you think about it the more you are going to be down and get down on yourself, the more you want to rush it back. So just kind of free your mind and get away from it all.†Source: National Football Post
Can't wait to see him back on the field next year, hope he's back to 100%, very fun to watch. Even when it is against us.
Never want to see a player leave the game due to injury....so if he can come back to his best next season that would be great.
