So much for the Giants not being able to hold their own against the Lions today. They clearly were the crisper of the two teams and took a 13-3 lead into the tunnel at halftime at Ford Field. Eli Manning (12/20, 137 yards and a TD) had some misses, but he had some hits, too. His main target has been none other than WR Jerrel Jernigan, the little-used former third-round pick who is taking over in the slot for the injured Victor Cruz. Jernigan (4 catches, 61 yards) caught his first career TD in the second quarter on a 20-yard slant over the middle. He kept the ball. Brandon Mosley, subbing for the injured David Diehl, left the game with a broken hand and did not return. He was replaced by Dallas Reynolds. The Lions have looked like the Giants have for most of this season. Reggie Bush fumbled at midfield leading to a Giant score. Justin Tuck then picked off Matthew Stafford to thwart a Lions’ scoring drive late in the second quarter. The Giants drove the ball back into Detroit territory and Josh Brown kicked his longest FG of the season – a 52 yarder – to give the Giants a 13-3 lead. Source: Continue reading...
