Wearing a blue New York Giants hat, quarterback Eli Manning said he is ready to return to the field but has to see if he can practice and play with a helmet on without busting open his 12 fresh stitches. "That will be the deal, seeing when I can put a helmet back on," Manning said. "Anytime you have stitches, you got to be careful to make sure those things don't break. When it is preseason, you kind of have time to get things healed up and it is about being smart." Manning said he has yet to talk to head coach Tom Coughlin about playing in this Saturday's preseason game against the Steelers. The quarterback did say that it didn't look good considering he was going to watch Wednesday's afternoon practice. Earlier in the morning, Manning watched a light practice from the sideline in a jersey, shorts and his cap. With one practice scheduled for Thursday and then another light walk-through practice on Friday, Manning likely could sit out Saturday. "It is hard with a short week and especially if I don't go today," said Manning, who has started 87 consecutive regular-season games. "We got to be smart and see what is the best way to get this 100-percent healed up so we don't have problems down the road." Source: ESPN New York
Come on bigsexy...your not being fair....he's got a wittle booboo. Who cares that his backup has a real injury and that the team is screwed.
