Giants running back Brandon Jacobs was fuming last night, charging that he and his teammates didn't play hard in last night's critical 26-6 loss to the Broncos at Invesco Field. Jacobs didn't help the cause as he was completely shut down, gaining 27 yards on 11 carries (2.5 yards per carry), but it didn't seem he had much help up front. "I'm angry for the simple reason, it doesn't bother me that my numbers weren't there," Jacobs said. "I just want to win football games. We didn't give us ourselves a chance. We gave the game away. We went out, and I didn't play hard and they took it." "We didn't want it bad enough, they wanted it more, and they came out and outplayed us," Jacobs said. Quarterback Eli Manning wouldn't blame Jacobs either. "Brandon's doing everything he could do," Manning said. "He's running hard. We have to find a way to stay in games and convert on third down so we can run the ball more often. We weren't on the field very long. We have to find ways to get him the ball and establish the running game." Source: New York Post
i don't blame you brandon. you don't have 10 foot wide lanes to run through anymore like you did last year and the year before. your oline and dline are no longer dominant in this league and it's why you guys are now an average team. (there I go again addressing my post personally to the player. --- what the hell?)
He should rip himself! yea that line isnt blocking the way they did before but he's not running with any urgency or authority, maybe its because he already has the big contract, or maybe this is all my bitterness because he's one of my fantasy football tailbacks, the reason im in 2nd place! lol
Jacobs has no business pointing his fingers at anyone but himself - his running all year has been sub-par. I've watching every single Giants game this season (and I have Jacobs on my fantasy team) so I've been paying close attention, I've come to the following conclusion: Brandon Jacobs is a crapty running back. I don't care how much the Oline is struggling, Bradshaw manages to make stuff happen when he carries the ball - Jacobs doesn't. And btw the Giants were not only outplayed against the Broncos they were seriously outcoached as well. At this point I would have to say that the Giants are a BELOW average team and I'll be surprised if they finish with a winning record. :icon_cry:
I think they need to stop trying to run jacobs to the outside makes no sense hes big as hell. pound him right up the middle and use bradshaw more.
Go rip yourself Jacobs, and be a man of your word and retire... cuz you're still under 4 per, when you've averaged 5 your career.
He should focus the criticism towards himself. The Giants' oline hasn't been playing up to its usual level but for all the money he's now making he needs to step his game up
eh the Giants tend to start off great then slip up since they've had Eli (not saying it's because of him), not sure why but it seems to be a pattern.
