Hakeem Nicks returned to the practice field today, at least giving the New York Giants wide receiver a shot to play in the team’s game this week at San Francisco. Nicks has missed the previous three games with a knee injury but was on the field today for individual drills, according to Jenny Vrentas of the Newark Star-Ledger. Nicks has also been bothered some by his foot that was repaired with surgery in spring, but he injured the knee in Week 2 during his 199-yard performance vs. the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Vrentas speculates Nicks’ availability for the game could hinge in a big way in how his body reacts Friday to the work he completes today. There is no question the Giants needs Nicks back as soon as possible but they don’t want this issue to linger throughout the season. Source: National Football Post
