Pre-Show on YouTube: John Cena faces the WWE Universe US Championship Match: Antonio Cesaro(c) vs. Justin Gabriel On Pay Per View: WWE Championship Match: CM Punk(c) vs. Ryback World Heavyweight Championship Match: Sheamus(c) vs. The Big Show Intercontinental Championship Match: Kofi Kingston(c) vs. The Miz Tag Team Championship Match: Team Hell No(c) vs. Rhodes Scholars Divas Championship Match: Eve(c) vs. Layla vs. Kaitlyn Randy Orton vs. Alberto Del Rio
Truth be told, minus the Divas and Orton match I'm looking forward to every single one of these. Granted Vince will take a giant crap and put Cena in the title match(preventing Ryback from losing) amongst other nonsense but has the potential to be pretty good. Is every match in a cell does anyone know or just the main event?
Should I mark this thread's title with (Spoilers) so people know not to go in here if they aren't watching the PPV live? Pretty decent PPV with the best build being the main event. The IWC is 50/50 on how this match can go. It should be a fun one. I am looking forward to the tag title match as well.
Please mark it spoilers for those who don't wish to be spoiled. Spoiler It's being reported that John Cena will be added to the main event of this evenings pay per view. There's 2 trains of thought for the move. 1) Punk can pin Cena essentially keeping Rybergs "streak" alive. 2) Ryberg can turn on Cena and join the "Dangerous Alliance" alongside Punk and Paul(and potentially Brock who is reported to wrestle at Survivor Series) And I believe the preshow will be streamed live on You Tube at 7:30.
Good stuff early on from Orton and Del Rio. Pretty physical stuff from them two. We all know this is the "Get Randy on the PPV" match but so far it's been stiff.
Del Rio vs Orton Recap: Spoiler Randy Orton defeated Alberto Del Rio at 12:40. Shore's Slant: Good opening match. It set a good bar for the rest of the card, but not one impossible to top. That said, as cool as the ending looked, I didn't like the story at the end. I don’t know if Del Rio fell or if that was scripted, but it looked really bad, and Orton not tapping to the arm breaker kills the move. I don't mind him winning, especially when he hit the move out of nowhere, but the no selling of the arm breaker is too much. Rhodes Scholars vs Team Hell No Recap: Spoiler Rhodes Scholars defeated Hell No by disqualification at 13:09. Shore's Slant: Pretty good tag match. Nothing special. I like the story they told, and it plays out well with the overall story they are telling. These four guys complement each other so well. I'm looking forward to where this goes from here. The Miz vs Kofi Kingston Recap: Spoiler Kofi Kingston defeated The Miz to retain the Intercontinental Title in 10:20. Powell's POV: Ross tired to sell the Kingston vs. Miz feud as a great rivalry. It feels premature for that talk, but at least they're trying to have an Intercontinental Title feud again. It would have been helpful if they had protected Miz rather than having Ryback destroy him on Monday. The crowd was pretty tame throughout the match. The effort was there from the wrestlers, but it's going to take time for people to care about two guys who were buried for so long. Antonio Cesaro vs Justin Gabriel Recap: Spoiler Antonio Cesaro retained the US Championship at 7:20. Shore's Slant: Absolutely terrible match. The crowd didn’t help it any, but they didn't do much to help the crowd either. I loved Claudio Castagnoli in the indies, but right now he looks like crap in WWE. I don't know if it is him or creative (I have my guesses) but this is terrible.
Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara vs The Primetime Players Recap: Spoiler Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara defeated The Prime Time Players at 12:28. Shore's Slant: That was a good match. I never expected them to get that much time so I didn't write more. Good for them. I didn't catch Sin Cara's potential injury when it happened, but the replay looked sick as hell. I hope he didn't do that dive with a concussion though.
Sheamus vs Big Show Recap: Spoiler Big Show defeated Sheamus in 20:15 to win the World Hvt. Championship. Powell's POV: Great match. In retrospect, they actually could use a buffer after that one. Everything about the match made sense with Show dominating early and Sheamus surging at the end. The live crowd was given plenty of incentive to get excited during that match and they responded accordingly. Best match of the night thus far. Another Recap: Spoiler Big Show won the World Heavyweight Championship at 20:15. Shore's Slant: What a great match. Seriously, that might be my favorite Big Show match of all time. My memory doesn't work well on these sorts of things, but I struggle to remember a match of Show's that impressed me more. They told a story from start to finish I'm also shocked at the finish. Right call too.
Layla vs. Kaitlyn vs. Eve Recap: Spoiler Eve retained the Divas Championship at 6:24. Shore's Slant: Kaitlyn did a good job hanging with the other two when she was in there. Pretty good match for the women. The crowd died for it, which was a shame.
Ryback vs CM Punk Recap: Spoiler C.M. Punk defeated Ryback in 11:25 to retain the WWE Championship. Powell's POV: I'm fine with the finish from a creative standpoint in that I didn't expect a clean finish. I figured something was up with the referee as soon as it was Maddox, but I had no idea they would actually have him turn on Ryback. I thought he'd miss a leg on the ropes again or something along those lines. The finish won't please the casual fans who were expecting to see a title change, but I liked it because Ryback lost in a way that puts the focus on the referee screwing him rather than on his streak ending. It wasn't a satisfying pay-per-view conclusion and they definitely took the cheap way out, but they avoided doing long term damage to Punk or Ryback.

No he won't. He'll either be on a 5 vs 5 team or a tag match with Cena vs. Punk and Lesnar. Or maybe 1 on 1 with lesnar but he won't be getting a rematch. WWE almost hecked themselves and had to put the strap on Ryberg but they won't do that again. They accomplished what they needed to with keeping Punks title reign in tact and making Ryberg look like a beast. Mission Accomplished.
got to watch most of the ppv last night it was ok for a themed ppv called hell in a cell and only one cell match = pointless hopefully tlc only has one themed match to follow suit :icon_rolleyes: main event was short and ending was a nice way not to ruin both punk and ryberg actually looking forward to watching raw
