The University of Miami will be without one of the nation's finest defensive backs next year. Kenny Phillips, a 6-2, 211-pound safety out of Miami Carol City High, will forgo his senior season to enter the NFL Draft, his mother said Thursday night. ''Kenny is going to the NFL,'' Taranda Wilson told The Miami Herald. "He's going to go into the League. 'We've been talking about it and [Thursday] he decided that, 'OK, it's time to go.' We've been praying and we'll continue to pray. We're going to put it in God's hands and hope that it goes the way it should go.'' Phillips, 21, is a projected first-rounder by NFL analysts -- as high as 12th in the latest mock draft by Todd McShay of Scouts Inc. Source: Miami Herald
