Question for Jad: I am in a league that has just one IDP in the starting lineup. I need to find a spreadsheet, similar to the "Top 200" that many sites develop, that rank IDP players regardless of position, before my draft at the end of the month. Hopefully, one that will be revised weekly during the season. Unless you feel that with a single player one is better off always playing a certain position, e.g. LB. Do you provide such a ranking? If not, where can I find one? IDP Scoring: solo tackle 1, assist, 0.5, sack 3, interception 3, force fumble 2, fumble recovery 2, TD 6, safety 2, pass defended 1, and blocked kick 2.
in the members area you'll find the TOP 100 IDP players and TIERS for each position as downloadable spreadsheets http://fantasyknuckleheads.com/members-only/ -
I just updated the top 100 for you in the members area. If you want to send someone notice you can "ping" them by using the @ symbol before their name.. like this @abb Cheers
Abb, honestly I wouldn't even consider JJ WATT in your league! A) His ADP is too high in your league. (his ADP is number 1 because most IDP leagues require you to have a DE) and he simply is (along with Quinn) the best DE B) Last year in a standard scoring league. JJ WATT and AJ Hawk scored the same amount of points. AJ Hawk was the 24th Linebacker in scoring. Linebackers score the most this is a given. Take the top 12-15 linebackers and either choose someone who is guaranteed to give you 100+ tackles or pick a big play LB a la Von Miller this is your choice. (given your league settings) sacks are valued a little higher then normal (but no much) I would go with the 100+ tackles.
last year, how many points did the IDP guys score relative to the other positions... and what the point drop off from the best IDP player to the 14th best? I mean serious.. is this like Kicker? Can you stream this 1 single IDP slot? Why not?
When your playing with 1 single IDP Slot. Here is the point drop off. N1 player was Bowman with 173.5 points N14 player DeAndre Levy with 133 points Barry Church was the only NON LB to score more then number 14. IDP is interesting when you have to play a minimum of 3 positions. Even more fun when you play all of them.
N1 player was Bowman with 173.5 points N14 player DeAndre Levy with 133 points So a 40 point loss from N1 to N14 - What is the ADP between N1 and N14? ps - this exercise is the one I use for all picks.. draft each pick trying to not lose points! which will make sense in a second.
ADP for IDP is very hard because each IDP league has different offensive points. But my guess for a league like this is JJ WATT is going at 10th round and the number 14 guy is going at the last round or undrafted. In this case where he has 1 IDP player, he is almost better off picking someone off the waivers. It is terrible because JJ WATT wouldn't even rank in the top 30 LB's he only scored 116 points.
To answer Kurt's Q: last year my IDPs averaged 8.8 points/game with a low of 2 and a high of 20 (Week 16). I drafted someone I can't remember but picked up Bowman before week one (I think after conferring with Jad). I played him 12 out of 16 weeks.
I really wasn't considering Watt. I remember last year he was drafted before the last round. Most of us used our last pick for our IDP and I plan to do so again. It is a relatively high scoring performance league (last year 0.5 PPR, this year 1 PPR) so I guess in the overall scoring the IDP is one of the lowest scoring position. Still, I would like to maximize my opportunity for points.
excellent Abb - since most folks draft their IDP spot near the end of the draft just use the TOP LB from the cheat sheet in the members area and you'll be good to go.
http://fantasyknuckleheads.com/idp-rankings-2014-top-20-every-position/ Check out my rankings. I would draft your IDP either in the last round or second to last round before the kicker. Remember last year you picked up Bowman so most likely someone will drop a big name after a bye week. IT Always happens when you have just 1 IDP slot
