When Sports Illustrated announced it was putting Brett Favre on its latest cover (slow week in the world of sports?), I looked back to find the last time I wrote anything of note about him. It was 2011. Goodness, has it been that long? So close and yet so Favre away: http://sportschump.net/2015/07/02/favre-long/15831/
I'm sure John Madden can't wait for Brett Favre to headline the Pro Football Hall Of Fame Class of 2016.
Yeah...I kinda agree with Dawk. I'm peg him more as an Eagle than a Packer...but if I had to pick White or Favre, I'm still picking Favre. Without him, I don't think they are even close to as good as they were. Don't get me wrong, White had an impact on their D in a major way, but Favre was more important than White IMO.
Bart Starr? Don't get me wrong. I also agree that Favre's the best Packer ever. Just trying to see if anyone is even close.
I think Starr is the closest followed by Reggie. Ray Nitschke? Paul Hornung? I can't think of any others at the moment...
while his waffling on retirement was irritating, dude was tough. He took a beating that NFCCG on our Super Bowl run. Still, I hate his commercials. As far as GOAT with the.Packers? I don't know man. Maybe the best all time Packer is the guy the Super Bowl. trophy is named after. Didn't specify player only. :)
