In what amounted to sprinkling some optimism dust on the fan base, Jacksonville Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio said the AFC South club won't be sitting on the sideline watching whenever the free agent signing period begins. Del Rio told season ticket holders that owner Wayne Weaver is primed to sign some big checks. “Wayne made very clear he is going to be a player going into the free-agent market,†said Del Rio, per the Florida Times-Union, “We also believe until we have established ourselves, we’re going have to use free agency to fill some holes.†Del Rio said the coaches are going on vacation next week, but are ready to get back to work if the lockout ends. “Obviously, we’re all on alert and hopeful that things will get resolved and we’ll be able to get back and kick off the year,†Del Rio said. “We’re looking for that green light so we can get started. We’re chomping at the bit."
