Jacksonville Jaguars: Previewing the Chad Henne-Blaine Gabbert Position Battle

The Jacksonville Jaguars have certainly improved their team this offseason and their new look on offense should have them on the right track to a better finish in 2012.

After signing Chad Henne, the team has a quandary at the starting quarterback spot with incumbent starter Blaine Gabbert looking to retain his job.

At running back, Maurice Jones-Drew will return and be a top-flight rusher as usual, but that’s about all that’s a sure thing on offense.

When you list the starting QBs in this league and really look at the names on that list, after about 12 names, it's all painfully average to below average...

yep, it really is. there's the 'haves' and the 'have nots' and QB can make all the difference in the world whether a team is successful or not.

Or you can be the 49ers and nearly make the super bowl.

'nearly' being the important word in that sentence.

mediocre QB'ing doesn't prevent a team from winning 'some' games in this league. it's just really, really difficult to win it all without one of 'the' guys under center.

when was the last one to win with a mediocre qb? we going back 10 years now to brad johnson?
