The Jaguars are counting on free-agent addition Aaron Kampman to boost the NFL’s worst pass rush from a season ago, but they’re not about to rush him into action before he’s ready. The former Packers defensive end, coming off ACL surgery, will be limited to only one practice a day when training camp opens next month, the Florida-Times Union reports. Although Jack Del Rio told the paper that Kampman is ahead of the game in rehab, the latter still is sitting out current offseason workouts. It’s wise for Jacksonville to take this approach with a veteran on whom they’ve invested much in the short term and relying upon for good production. Even if it takes Kampman sitting out all preseason games to get him back to where he can have an impact come Week 1 or 2, it will be worth it.
