In what should be the most unsurprising news of the day, Jaguars defensive tackle D'Anthony Smith was the only player injured in the first day of practice at the veteran mini-camp on Tuesday as he left with a left calf strain, according to John Oehser of Jaguars.com.

Smith was a third-round pick in the 2010 NFL Draft and has played in a grand total of eight games during his NFL career, as he has been injured throughout. After tearing his Achilles tendon as a rookie, Smith missed his second season as well with a foot injury. It wasn't until his third season that he found the field, but was largely ineffective for the Jaguars before heading to the injured reserve for a third time in as many years, this time with a neck injury.

It's unlikely that the calf strain is anything serious and it would be shocking if it prevented him from participating in training camp, but it's another injury to a player with just one season remaining on the rookie contract he signed in 2010.
