Earlier this week, the San Francisco 49ers gave up on former Parker High standout A.J. Jenkins, the 30th overall pick in the 2012 draft, trading him to the Kansas City Chiefs. Selected eight spots later, Jaguars defensive end Andre Branch could be facing a similar fate. Limited to 30 out of a possible 134 snaps so far this preseason, Branch is clearly on the roster bubble, the Jaguars disappointed with how he fits in their defense and his lack of consistency. A part-time starter who played 408 snaps in 13 games last year, Branch could also be available in a trade, the Jaguars opting to acquire a draft pick instead of cutting him and getting nothing. The belief is Branch has trade value for a team lower on the waiver-claim order. “That’s their job [to decide],†Branch said when asked about his status. “That’s not my job at all. I’m playing the game I love to play. That’s what my job is.†Source: Florida Times Union
