The Jaguars find themselves in an unfamiliar position as they prepare for the draft, Pro Football Talk hears that the club feels good about the wide receiver position for the first time in years. Mike Sims-Walker emerged last season as a dependable No. 1 option, but a healthy position battle is expected to take place for the opening spot opposite Sims-Walker and at least four players will be given an opportunity to earn the job, with Troy Williamson and Mike Thomas considered the front-runners. The Jaguars were thrilled with the production of the versatile Thomas as a rookie and 2009 fifth-round pick Jarett Dillard also showed some flashes before breaking his ankle in Week 10, but perhaps the wild card is free-agent acquisition Kassim Osgood, a special-teams standout with the Chargers, Osgood wants to be a receiver and at 6-foot-5 has a real size advantage over the competition. I agree JJ. I'd like to see some sort of veteran in there that could be somewhat productive as a #3 and provide a little leadership. Derrick Mason might've been nice...a little on the old side...
