Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew said today he remains on track to begin doing football activities in early May or June after undergoing surgery for a broken foot on Dec. 28 in Charlotte, N.C. Appearing today at the Super Bowl Media Center for a Gatorade promotional event, Jones-Drew still had a cast on his left foot and needed a scooter to get around. Jones-Drew said he will begin swimming pool work in a few weeks before moving on to walking, jogging and then running. “It’s kind of like teaching yourself how to do everything all over again; the same kind of thing I did with my knee injury,†he told the Times-Union. Jones-Drew said his foot injury wasn’t a lisfranc injury as most assumed, but simply a “mid-foot†fracture. At the time of his injury, he refused to reveal the nature of the injury so he wouldn’t get fined by then coach Mike Mularkey. Source: Florida Times-Union
