Maurice Jones-Drew will need arthroscopic knee surgery -- or a knee scope -- for maintenance purposes to repair an injured meniscus he suffered in the preseason, according to a team source. The meniscus is the cartilage that cushions the space between the bones in the knee. Jones-Drew does not have ligament damage, the source said. Jones-Drew's knee began to swell after the Jaguars played the Oakland Raiders three weeks ago. He did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday of the ensuing week, but returned to practice on Friday and played in Indianapolis two weeks ago where he only gained 46 yards rushing in that game. "They told him going into this year that knee may not hold up," offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter said. "It's really pretty remarkable that he put up the numbers that he did and ran the way he did for as long he did."
