The Jacksonville Jaguars lost 17,000 season-ticket holders after last season, a staggering number that could lead to blackouts for every home game in 2009. Jaguars owner, Wayne Weaver told The Associated Press this week that drafting Tebow, the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner who grew up in Jacksonville and has top-ranked Florida seeking its third national championship in four seasons, is something he will consider next year. "Star power is incredible, and Tebow is an iconic figure," Weaver said, noting that Brett Favre's arrival in Minnesota prompted about 7,000 season-ticket sales. "That's very compelling. He clearly is an outstanding football player and would be an asset to any football organization." Source: Associated Press
Encouraging for the team, but most of all the city of Jacksonville. There should be a mad rush on season tickets for this season in preparation for 2010. :icon_confused:
Even as a Florida fan I can't see Tebow making an impact at the next level. Hopefully I'm wrong but, is there another case where a big, bruising, run oriented, QB has made it in the NFL?
I don't think he's a full time QB at the next level, but he's strong athletic and has a ton of heart, I can see him playing another position and playing some QB on gadget plays
I agree with you Harvs, he will play in some capacity. Just not as a full time QB. If he packs on acouple dozen lbs he could be a FB I guess?
he might be one of the very worst pro prospects ever, but damnit he is a guy that loves to be doubted. he has horrible mechanics and a reckless style of play but he has a winners mentality. he would no doubt be a better TE imo, but someone will give him a chance to prove everyone wrong
what third or fourth round? I have already made the comparisons multiple times to Dallas Clark and he could end up being a bruising TE like him, other than that, not much pro talent.
