Pretty sure Jamal Lewis isn't going anywhere. It will most likely be a split carries situation. If it goes like the preseason, Davis will get more carries. Probably not gonna be worth it until a) he takes over as the starter later in the season, b) Jamal Lewis gets hurt. If you have an extra roster spot it could be a decent reward later on, but it's up in the air right now.
I think Lewis is 100% the starter, but you have to remember that mangini has no loyalty to Lewis whatsoever and if the lackluster play from lewis continues into the regular season, you can bet that lewis' leash will be shorter than you think. Davis is a great runner and could be the main man sooner rather than later.
Not at all. Jerome harrison is still their second running back. Davis could be a great sleeper in 2010, when the Browns will probably get rid of lewis
It's not out of the question that Davis is the starter by mid-season. Lewis is a shadow of his former self and Harrison was out injured for most of the preseason with an ankle injury and may not be productive early in the season...where Davis took the opportunity to shine. Lewis is the 1RB for now, but that could change if Davis has a productive game or two...
Harrison is going to be the change of pace back regardless. If Lewis gets hurt, Davis will get bulk of the carries.
Davis is a stud. when Jamal Lewis goes down from injuries or crapness, davis will take over as the starter with harrison remaining the 3rd down/pass catching back. hes going undrafted in most leagues so if you have an expendable bench player id snap him up and store him for midseason.
couldn't be more wrong...google whacking a depth chart means nothing. Davis was picking the blitz up better than harrison by the beginning of August, something that harrison has never been able to do. Davis is 100% the backup and if Jamal lewis gets hurt or falters, the short leash will be pulled. New coach mangini has no loyalty to the battered 30 year old lewis and won't hesitate to put the rookie out there. Harrison is junk.
