Jason Campbell - Will He Prove The Redskins Wrong?

Jay Cutler, Mark Sanchez, heck, even Byron Leftwich came into tow for a look around but after all those failed attempts Jason Campbell is still in the starting job. I have serious doubts he can ever become more than what he is (average QB) and get the feeling before the season is done Colt Brennan will have gotten a look (and this isn't some Redskins fan proclaiming Colt to be the saviour, he is raw as hell).

Anyone think he is going to prove everyone wrong and lead the Redskins to a decent record as well as performing above expectations personally?

I don't know how serious. But I have also heard reports. That Snyder would like Vince Young as well. Isn't he a poor man's Jason Campbell?

You said it best. Jason will never be more than just an average QB at best. After years of watching him "develop" I have to agree. I would say give him one more year as the starter and then begin grooming Brennan for the future beyond 2009.

Being a Hawaii fan, I hope Colt steps up for the skins..Raw maybe but hopefully all the time on the sidelines he has picked up some valuable info.

it will be exciting to see what he does in preseason

  7. Campbell has potential but can he reach it? I don't know plus he plays in the NFC EAST every year

I say Jason Campbell is an above average QB, but not far above the average line.

Last year after one full season under Zorn I saw a lot of change in Campbell, I believe a lot of that had to do with an experienced ex-QB who was his head coach.

Will Jason Campbell lead the team to a 16-0 record, no, but would I believe 11-5 is possible? Yes.

I think one of the major problems for Campbell last season was the offensive line. During our 6-2 record they were healthy and playing well, but later on injuries developed, other players on the team were getting hurt and I think a lot of that had to do with his fall. Not that he could have done better because he could, but you do need a line to help give you time to pass the ball, face it.

I think with the addition of Dockery and Williams, the release of Jansen and Heyer being a starter, I think the line will be a lot better than last season and will only help give Campbell more time to pbutt.

I do agree if Campbell can't get it done this year he may need to be traded etc, but I will base that on how he plays as well as the rest of the team. A lot of people like to blame only one person, the QB, but 90% of the time it's not their fault.

I think the most important thing for Campbell to work on this season is his accuracy, too many times did I see him throw the ball to low, to high, to far to the left or to far to the right, the other thing is looking, he seems to focus on one of the WR's the entire time (he seemed to start doing that after our 6-2 start).

He's looking real good in the OTA's and Mini-camps, he has his elbow up a little higher for a quicker release which I like. The one main thing that cheers me up about this season, Campbell wise is three things.

    1) He wants to prove all the doubters wrong
    2) He knows he needs to get it done so he's practicing twice as hard
    3) In a video talking to the team he said, "Hey one thing about it man, just keep believing in each other, everything gonna turn, it may not come when we want it, but keep the right attitude and everything will be in our way, soon."

Number 3 really gives me hope because he's taking control of HIS team and he believes in them as well as he believes in himself.
