Jermaine Jones may have issued an apology for his stomp on Marco Reus' injured foot, but the German Football Federation (DFB) is having no remorse on the U.S. international. The DFB has handed Jones an eight-week ban for his actions in Schalke 04's 3-1 loss to Borussia Moenchengladbach in the German Cup Round of 16. The incident had been under investigation by the DFB since it took place two weeks ago. The lengthy suspension is affective across all competitions and means that Jones will miss six league games. Jones will not be available for selection for Schalke until it plays SC Freiburg on March 2. Source:Soccer By Ives
Has this been on the news in Deutschland, olly? If so, any footage available to see what in the hell took 2 weeks to decide? If he gets bored with soccer (football) maybe he should consider a career move and play for the Lions or Raiders. iKraut......
No footage available. Not only this. Reus (the opponent player) already had an injured foot and was wearing a special shoe for protection. Jones was frustrated about the game (Schalke lost 1:3) and pulled the Suh. He will miss 6 regular season games and isn't allowed to play in any game, even friendlies.

What a freaking dipcrap. That butthole actually put his head down and went on the hunt for Reus' toe. Deport the motherhecker to Tibet. Thanks, Duke.
Adam, what!? There isn't 1 guy on the US team that can actually pass on a long ball except this dude. He can land it on a dime. Even if he isn't actively playing he needs to be on the US team(which he is) and he brings attitude and swagger which is what they need, end of story.
At his best day he is average and on his worst day he has no place on the pitch. In fact, once Stu Holden is back he can go back to the bench. No doubt he needs to be on the team but that doesn't mean he needs to be in the starting XI.
When did this A-hole join the US team anyway because I certainly don't recall hearing his name during the World Cup? All I know is what I see on the tube cuz I never read anything about soccer. Probably typical for the casual US fan who only watches the World cup matches.
He was hurt for the 2010 World Cup. And I agree with y'all about him being mediocre at best. And I didn't say he should be in the starting XI all the time. I think he should start if we play teams with a weak back line so he can drop balls in for Dempey, Altidore and Lando up top. But when/if Holden is back to form and doing well, I want him in there. He's just hurt ALL the dang time!
