Jerry Jones was in a chipper mood after his Dallas Cowboys opened their season Sunday with a 36-31 victory over the New York Giants. But one thing did left Jones upset: the Giants allegedly faking injuries to slow down the Cowboys' no-huddle offense.

“It was so obvious it was funny," Jones told reporters, per the Dallas Morning News. "It wasn’t humorous because we really wanted the advantage and knew we could get it if we could get the ball snapped.â€￾

One notable example: Giants defensive lineman Cullen Jenkins went down with what appeared to be a shoulder injury in the second quarter.

“I thought us experts on football were the only ones who could see that,â€￾ Jones replied when he was asked about possible diving by Big Blue.

The Morning News' report did not contain a response from the Giants.

The NFL last week sent a memo to teams reminding them that faking injuries is

if someone is "shaken up" they should be forced out for at least a quarter for their own safety.

The NFL competition committee has to do something about this next year. About the only way to put a stop to it is give them one chance to do it. After that, start charging time outs. That's about the only way to stop it.

I like this idea.. Make teams think twice about faking being "injured".

it just doesn't help in the 4th qtr, dunno what the solution is there aside from charging a time out but if they don't have one, no problem.

Just throw a third stringer in there for a play and have him take a dive.

There's nothing the NFL or officials can do during the game...otherwise, they are pretty much jeopardizing the safety of the players. However, after the game, the NFL can slap down some disciplinary action for conduct detrimental to the game - coaching fines, players fines , and club fines, player suspensions, coach suspensions and forfeiture of draft picks. Ok so every time a player fakes an injury I expect you to have proof of it so you can demonstrate when to implement your plan.
