The New York Jets have still not determined their kicker for the 2013 season, but on Tuesday brought in Dan Carpenter to compete with Nick Folk and released Billy Cundiff.

Carpenter will join his third team this summer, having previously kicked for Miami and Arizona. He was cut by the Dolphins after the first preseason game, then was picked up by the Cardinals to compete with Jay Feely and was again released after having a 26-yard field goal try blocked in this past Saturday's game against San Diego.

An AFC Pro Bowl selection in 2009 with the Dolphins, Carpenter spent his first five seasons in Miami. He has connected on 81.9 percent of his field goal tries, but his hefty contract was deemed expendable when the Dolphins decided to keep fifth-round pick Caleb Sturgis as a cheaper alternative.
