New York Jets defensive end Vernon Gholston has produced 30 tackles and no sacks in two NFL seasons, 29 games and three starts. Drafted in the first round out of Ohio State, Gholston hasn't met high expectations. Now, the Jets are hoping that that Gholston can resurrect his career by shifting him from outside linebacker to defensive end. Widely characterized as a bust, Gholston is aware of what people think about him. "It's an understandable assessment," Gholston told the New York Daily News. "That's something I do accept. Moving forward, I plan to change it....People expect a guy to come in and have the immediate impact and get all the sacks. That's mainly what people attribute to me - not getting sacks."
