The Jets were saluted by many of their fans last year when they announced that there would be no personal seat license fee for any seats in the upper deck of the new Meadowlands football stadium. But some of those same fans are now seething about the Jets' notifying them recently that fans in the non-PSL seats must now put up a $500-a-seat deposit, 16 months before the first regular-season game in September 2010 at the new $1.6 billion building. So, a fan who has four $90 seats just paid $3,600 for the 2009 seats, eight regular-season and two preseason games, and now must pony up an additional $2,000 shortly thereafter.
