New Jersey's two NFL teams are suing to block a project that developers say would be the largest mall in the United States. Officials from the Giants and the Jets say the proposed "American Dream" megamall at the Meadowlands violates a prior agreement that the teams had to approve any expansion plans at the East Rutherford site, which is near MetLife stadium where the teams play. Lawyers representing the teams and the company that built the stadium also claim the project will create "a transportation nightmare" that will adversely affect football fans. The suit was filed Friday in Superior Court in Bergen County. An email message left Tuesday for the developers of the American Dream project was not immediately returned. Source: Associated Press
Considering the parking needed for stadiums, the lots are unused all but 10 days? Patriot Place isn't bad but it's outdoor, and the parking isn't all that close to it.
Great, just what Jersey needs ANOTHER mall let alone the largest mall in America. That section of the N.J. Turnpike is a nightmare as it is, sure let's add GINORMOUS mall there too...idiots!! I guess they were thinking about the location but with Newark International Airport, The huge IKEA store, Toys R Us, Best Buy and the Meadowlands sports complex that place will be insane. I'm so glad we moved the hell out of there!!!
All the stuff you mentioned isn't that close to Meadowlands. They need to leave meadowlands alone. It's in a great location and the location doesn't need to be disturbed by some stupid mall.
Still if that mall went up, I'd hate to have to go to a game in December. NFL fans AND Christmas shoppers in that mess?
