Across town, the Yankees have a future Hall-of-Fame closer in Mariano Rivera and now the Jets have one of their own. OLB Jason Taylor, who will be heading to Canton instead of Cooperstown upon retirement, was acquired in the offseason for a lot of reasons, but a primary one being his penchant for late-game sacks. Taylor had a huge play with four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter of Week Two, spinning around Patriots OLT Matt Light before hitting Tom Brady, knocking the ball loose and OLB Bryan Thomas recovered the fumble, essentially ending the game and sealing a Jets victory. Taylor has been criticized in the past for his lack of contribution to run defense, but he has been solid in that department in 2010 and Jets coaches are pleased with his all-around play, despite battling a bruised elbow. The team has been looking for a pass-rushing 'closer' since John Abraham departed following the 2005 season, and they believe Taylor is perfect at filling the role. Source: Pro Football Weekly
