The Jets have named rookie Mark Sanchez their starting quarterback, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. "At roughly 8 am this morning, Rex Ryan told Jets QBs he is going with Mark Sanchez as his new starter. One QB battle done, onto the others," Schefter wrote on his Twitter page Wednesday morning. Drafted out of USC, Sanchez has gone 6-of-12 in two preseason games, with one touchdown pass and one interception while Clemens, in his fourth season, is 9-of-14 for 84 yards in the preseason. Yeah, they drafted him in part to get asses in seats and he won't do that sitting on the bench - I'll go on record as saying this kid is gonna suck.
i can't argue with it. some qb's can succeed starting right away. typically, my belief is that a young qb needs to watch and learn for a year or 2 but sometimes this works.
Yup... Hopefully the Jets have the luck the Falcons and Ravens had last year with rookie QBs starting.
