On Thursday, Jets coach Rex Ryan said Tim Tebow was healthy enough to be the backup quarterback, but not enough so to be the Wildcat quarterback or the team’s personal punt protector. Just 24 hours later, the coach reversed that position, saying Tebow was more mobile in practice Thursday than had been expected, Seth Walder of the New York Daily News reports. “He moved around great. This is the best he’s looked in several weeks, so …there could be a chance he does Wildcat,†said Ryan. “He moved around that good that we may get him back in similar roles.†Tebow said Friday that the Jets have practiced the Wildcat for “a few reps.†Offensive coordinator Tony Sparano said the team can wait to make a decision since they won’t play until Monday night. Ryan said Tebow will not require additional X-rays before the game, given that he has been cleared to play and has only been held out by the coaches, Ryan acknowledged that Tebow doesn’t take hits in practice and therefore he doesn't know how the QB will respond if he takes one in a game, but said his health is apparent. “Just looking at the way he’s throwing the football,†said Ryan. “Before … you could almost tell that he wasn’t real sure. The fact that the Jets utilise and consider the wildcat as a big part of their offense in 2012 just shows how utterly incompetent and behind the times their coaching team are. That whole franchise needs a deep clean.
