Who would you take as your starting QB? Joe Flacco or any one of the following. Matt Ryan Michael Vick Matthew Stafford Tony Romo Cam Newton Matt Schaub Alex Smith Josh Freeman Discuss...
I think I would definitely take Stafford, Romo, Schaub over Flacco. I think Ryan is a push...Flacco has an edge with his playoff experience, but I'd go "push" for now. I think the others are debatable in different ways but I think I'd take Flacco over Vick, Newton, Smith and Freeman...for now...
Stafford and Schaub for sure. Romo is good but he also has had very good weapons, ones that Flacco didn't.
Stafford then Romo.. Actually I would take all of the above except for Vick. And the only reason I won't take Vick is because of injury concerns.
i just dont really like schaub for anything but fantasy football. id take these guys, and cutler (just throwing him in there). stafford 100% though not even close. ive been a stafford fan boy since day 1. and i would absolutely take cam over flacco Matt Ryan Michael Vick Matthew Stafford Cam Newton
Ill take Romo until December, then is overwith. Give me another season with Newton before I make any real judgements on him
I'd take Flacco over all of them, except maybe Stafford. He was a dropped pass from taking his team to the SB. Look how close the rest of those guys have gotten thus far.
I would take Flacco over any of these guys because he has the most playoff experience and for the reason stated by Chipper.
As a Raven, no ? here. I'll just stick with Bazooka Joe. Jaws agreed and said recently the man has one of the best long ball arm in the NFL. Just needs to get over the hump with more weapons and an OC he can can connect with. Things take time, remember Joe went to Pitt and left for Delaware after Dave Wannstedt would not start him over some wanna be named Tyler Palko. Where are Dave and Tyler now?? Hopefully a guy named Jim Caldwell can bring out the best in him as he has coached a QB who goes by the name of Peyton. The only reason OC Cam Cam was not fired before last season was because of the speculation that we would not have a new CBA. No one wanted to start a new season with a new OC with no OTA's and training camp.
Talent? Romo has Miles Austin. Dez Bryant. Jason Witten. Matt Ryan has Julio Jones. Roddy White. Tony Gonzalez. Matt Stafford has Calvin Johnson. Nate Burelson. Schaub has Andre Johnson. So, where exactly is the lack of talent with those other guys? Flacco may not be the nexy superstar QB, but he has the playoff experience. He knows how to win games, and he had the game vs the Patriots won. His "talent" around him..let him down. If you're a good or great QB, then where's the excuse?
no one has both the defense and run game that flacco has, not even close really. but thats not his fault, just saying if you give the lions a studly defense (its good, but spotty) and a run game then stafford would crush the world. i dont see what everyone likes about shaub, he doesnt have any real signature games....hes done nothing but put up decent fantasy numbers and get hurt i think its funny flacco wants top 5 money right now, imo hes top 15 in QBs. Huge arm but he looks like tommy maddox or derek anderson when he gets pressured, throws so many balls right into the dirt. Stafford is far and away the better QB and i would have said that before last season (even though we couldnt really tell if he was gonna shake the injury bug for a season, but even in spot duty stafford was spectacular), the rest are meh...id say ryan is in the same boat as flacco..he needs to show he can be the guy to get it done sooner rather than later, but is a middle tier QB
Are we talking fantasy football? If so then this is who I'd take before Flacco: Matt Ryan Michael Vick Matthew Stafford Tony Romo Matt Schaub Now if we are talking the Ravens with either Flacco starting or someone else under center....then I'd stick with Flacco under center. He doesn't have to be a top 5 FF QB for me to want him under center. He took the next step last year and is the franchise QB. The contract squabble is cannon fodder. The deal will get done.
Just about every qb on that list has questions about them except Schaub. Most of the rest has injury concerns, inexperience, and in Romo's case not being able to close the deal when it counts.Flacco does well for what they ask him to do.
