The NFL Network is furious with Gruden for jilting the network after he'd verbally agreed to a deal to work there. The former Bucs coach had been very good on the NFL Network, colorful and opinionated, at the NFL scouting combine and the NFL draft, and the network had finalized everything but the signature on the paper for Gruden to begin working there immediately. But ESPN swooped in, offered Gruden the Monday night seat vacated by Tony Kornheiser, and Gruden took it.

If you get hired at a job and you get a better offer at another job before you start you take it.

As long as they are broadcasting a football game you can hate them, but have to watch...

The Glazers have to be pissed. They are still paying this jerkoff and he's not even interested in finding another coaching gig because of it.

I'm dissapointed really. For me, he makes a much better on-set analyst than a colour commentator.

Still, at least ESPN are 33% through sorting out the MNF commentary team.

I don't think Tirico is all that bad, as long as he stays in his place and just does PBP, not a fan of Jaws, and I thought Jaws was okay. Gruden should be interesting to watch.

How do you know that if he's never broadcast a game. It's pretty much the same thing except during a game you are giving analysis on the fly rather than prepping a specific segment like you would in a studio. He should excel at this.

Tirico, Jaws, & Chucky will be one of the best broadcast teams on tv. TK was the weak link and they've replaced him with someone who is football knowledge and charasmatic.

ESPN bashing for the sake of ESPN bashing is cliched and tired. Give a specific example when slamming the WWL or let it go. In every thread that involves ESPN I can successfully predict the responses before even reading the thread.

I'm not bashing espn, I'm bashing gruden, he's annoying and has one opinion about everyone. That's a hellava football player right there. Then makes a face that looks like he just did like 4 lines.
