Despite a report that Ed Reed is "highly unlikely" to suit up versus the San Diego Chargers on Monday night, Houston Texans coach Gary Kubiak said Friday that the veteran safety will be a game-time decision. Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips also refused to rule Reed out, adding that the nine-time Pro Bowl selection has "really come on" the past few days. If this is all gamesmanship to keep the Chargers guessing, Texans cornerback Johnathan Joseph didn't get the memo from Kubiak and Joseph. "Obviously, (Reed is) out for this game," Joseph said Friday, via the Houston Chronicle, "but I think it's a move in the right direction to get him out there moving around (in practice)." Reed labeled his status as "day-to-day," explaining that he's still working through some scar tissue in his surgically repaired hip. The Texans still have one more practice Saturday, but the odds are against Reed progressing enough to play. Source: NFL.com
