When I get insomnia I read football articles, anything for that edge. Anyways, this could prove to be interesting, and makes a pick of Gordon in the later rounds worthwhile.. to me at least. What to expect if Josh Gordon loses his appeal.
I read Gordon could have passed the test if the lab worker who labeled the bottles reversed the way they labeled them (A & B). The way they were marked, Bottle A tested positive, so bottle B had to be tested. A showed more traces of pot than B, which barely showed anything. So Gordon could have shown a negative if the lab worker marked them opposite, with A being a negative reading. Such a simple thing could have gotten him out of a suspension.
If the testing procedures here are the nowm, then the NFL needs to change their testing procedures and protocols.
I Can understand when the guy is a multipile abuser of cocaine or some other drug, but pot is legal in some states and eventually it will be legal maybe all over the usa.they are gonna have to reevaluate this as more states approve it's use.At the very least if somebody needs it for medical use, they should not punish them for that.
I am currently in a keeper league for the first year and Gordon is up for grabs, the question is which round is he worth drafting if any. My game plan is to draft him worse case if he cant play for all season I will just burn a bench spot, and have him in my lineup for next year 2015. This is my league scoring etc. Thanks guys. League size -12 team Scoring - 1 PPR, 1 point per 10 yards rushing, 1 point per 10 yards receiving, 6 points per TD rushing and receiving, and 4 points per passing TD. Roster settings - 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 FLEX, 1 KICKER, 1 TMDEF
In my keeper, I'm taking him in the 14th or 15th. If he doesn't play oh well 14th round bust, it happens. If he does and isn't suspended next year I have a late round keeper. But I'm not taking the risk before then.
I wouldn't take him until the early teens now. The longer the process for his hearing drags out, the lower he is going to go.
So with the news now out, would you guys even draft him. I think i can manage to burn a bench spot for him, knowing his skill set for next year. Im just trying to figure out which round to pull the trigger to beat the competition with other players thinking the same as me.
He lost his appeal and can re-apply to enter the league after the 2014 season.hopefully,he can use this year to beat this problem and get back into the league.
I'd still only draft him in the 14th or 15th round. There is still a chance he could screw up with ALL that time away from the team. Luckily it's only a season suspension and not a full year since he'd miss all of next year's training camp.
