  1. LB Casey Matthews (Oregon)

    Round: 4th

    Positive: Gets off blocks quickly

    Negative: Athleticism

    Run: Above Average

    Pass Rush: Average

    Coverage: Below Average

    Instincts: Above Average

    Other Spots: 3-4 ILB

does a nice job wrapping up. Sheds blockers easily and quickly. Looks akward in coverage. Speed is about average for a MLB maybe a little bit less. MLB Only. Decent blitzer. Has great instincts but hesitates for some reason sometimes. Not a flashy guy but is a solid football player despite athletic deficiencies.

I like Matthews. I don't think he'll ever be a perennial pro-bowler, but he should have a decent to good career and be a be a solid contributor in almost any system.

  3. agreed. He has the potential to be a starter in the league.

What I like is his work ethic. From what i've read he is a film rat who doesn't rely on athletic ability to be successful, instead he reads where he should be.

  7. exactly. You're on spot here. I wouldn't be surprised if your Dolphins scooped him up.

Him vs Crowder, Matthews all day. He doesn't open his mouth and he doesn't break his vag**a when he sneezes.

Technique and football instincts get him by. He's by no means the athlete who runs all over the field but he knows his role and plays it right.

  11. that's right. You can almost tell he comes from the family he does because he is so well coached.

Maybe it's because of his dad's legacy, but I can see him getting drafted by the Browns. He's perfect for the 4-3 and D'Qwell is becoming injury prone. He'd also be a fan favorite because of his name. Not too mention that Holmgren values players with high football IQ
