The Cleveland Cavaliers' strongest competition for LeBron James' long-term services could be the deep-pocketed new kid on the block -- Europe. A person close to James said Tuesday that the Cavaliers' superstar would strongly consider playing overseas if he was offered a salary of "around $50 million a year." Source: ESPN.com
$50 million a year....lol thats badass i didnt even know they played sports not called futbol over there
If Earl Boykins can make 3.5 million in the Italian league with his 5 ppg and his 3 assists per game they would have to pay Lebron 9 figures to be comparable.
I'd laugh if he and Kobe both came over, the NBA would be screwed! Although all it would do would be to make Stern try and do his European expansions faster which tbh i doubt would work, as europe has it's own leagues dont see where they would fit in. The easy soultion is for a bigger salary cap but tbh for what a 12-15 man roster how big does it need to be!
crap i would expect him to go for 50 mill a year but since we just pulled in mo williams to give him a legitimate scoring option i am not worried
This would be an absolute disaster for the NBA, if that happened!!! To be honest with you though, he would almost be crazy not to take it! We're talkin' $50 mil. a year here!! :icon_eek: :Money: I KNOW I WOULD!!!! :icon_biggrin:
