Lesnar To Fight Overeem Dec. 30

"Dana White's Twitter confirmed a fight that MMA fans have clamored for. Strikeforce heavyweight champ Alistair Overeem, who reportedly signed a UFC contract Tuesday, will take on former UFC heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar on Dec. 30."

I don't know anything about Overeem but I'm excited Lesnar is getting back in the octagon.

 

So what I can tell is Lesnar is going to fight someone over a reem?

This thread got out of hand for me. I think it's past my bed time.

 

I don't watch this stuff...ever. When Brock was champ, how did he do? Was he "handed" the championship based on his name or did he fight hard for it?

 

He kicked butt when he was champ. He earned everything he got. He just kept having to drop out to fight this disease thing he has.

 

I think he got the title shot handed to him. He lost his first fight and was 2-1 when he got the title fight. Meanwhile you have guys in other weight classes that would be 10-0 or better and they still waiting for championship fight. Lesnar is a pretty good fighter and he was able to defend the belt for a while. I just think he got title fight too early.
