This is just a post on a lesson I learned this year in fantasy. Feel free to comment or move to a different forum if this is in the wrong place. So in the begining of the year I had Davante Freeman and Doug Martin on my bench on one of my teams. I dropped Davante Freeman week 3 due to not producing and also traded away Doug Martin for the same reason. The trade wasn't a bad trade but with knowing what I know now as far as good RB's being out there and injuries I would have never made any of those moves. My lesson that I learned this year is don't be too impatient. Unless you seem an obvious problem with someone on your team, give them time to work with their offense. I would say if they're still not producing after week 4 or 5 then make moves but like I said it might be a good idea to give them some time and not be too impatient. Look what I did. I DROPPED, not even traded, one of THE best running backs this season because I was impatient. Then of course this is a suggestion because I held onto Spiller past week 5 and that didn't really work out that well either. I dropped him about 2 weeks ago and it now looks like he might have an increased role due to Khiry Robinson's injury this week. Come to think about it, I guess I could just post what moves I make every week and you can just go looking for those guys because I seem to make the wrong moves ALL the time. As soon as I drop or trade someone that start blowing up and become a stud. Thank you for listening to my little rant. Feel free to comment away. Share your stories of dumb moves you regret after knowing the outcome of them a few weeks later

I mean I guess but there are just as many times to walk away or get vaule. Unless you have crystal ball you won't ever know.

If you traded Forte away you look like genius right now was it the right move at the time? Nope, unless you did it based on workload and age causing durability issues

Was holding DeSean Jackson the right move nope was a waste, but I kept thinking he would play. It may pay off, but I could also could have just played an entire year with a short bench for no reason.

I grabbed blue with the number one postion last week because it was the right move at the time. I didn't even like blue but you can't pass it. Now I would have D.Williams so if I passed on blue I would look like a genius when it would have been the wrong move to do so at the time.

Fantasy football is a cruel mistress and it is all about the right move based on the facts you have at the time. Also the first 3 weeks is where you see the breakout guys alot of the time. You cannot pass on a breakout guy to hope for development all the time casue you end up holding Nelson Agholor...

It's a love hate relationship with fantasy football. I LOVE playing but I hate all the stupid s**t that goes along with it as well. That's a good point too. If you're too patient then you might lose out on a guy you could've picked up all the while the guy you're being patient with is burning up your roster with 3 points a week hehehe. I always think about Back to the Future and the Sports Almanac book. I wish that thing was real!

I don't think you made a dumb move with Freeman. He was dirt last season and started this season slow and had a rookie knocking on his door. Martin was equally as hard to gauge.

When I've got a player like this I usually hold them and wait for a week or two production to try and sell.

Sounds about right. I kept telling everyone in my family league, who made fun of me since I was an "expert", "I'm not worried, my team is good." They laughed and poked fun but now I'm 5-3 with..
QB: Matt Ryan and Blake Bortles
RB: Lamar Miller, Chris Ivory, Jeremy Hill, Karlos Williams, Jeremy Langford, Frank Gore
WR: Demaryius, Larry Fitzgerald, John Brown, Jarvis Landry, Michael Crabtree, Jordan Matthews (who I just picked up this week after someone dropped)
TE: Gronk (traded Kelce, Reed, and Doug Martin for him)

    So yeah, be patient.
