The Detroit Lions have agreed to terms on a one-year deal with free agent OT Jon Jansen who was released earlier on Friday by the Washington Redskins. According to a league source, the deal is contingent on the veteran offensive lineman passing a physical. Another source said that the Lions had about $8 million left in salary cap space and it's believe Jansen agreed to the veteran minimum salary for a player with at least 10 seasons of accrued service at $845,000.

    very interesting

the Oline was pretty much set with backus-loper-ravioli-peterman-The Goz

i would be shocked if he signed knowing he would be a backup so that means 1 of them wont be starting

hes not taking Goz's spot thats for sure and Goz cant play LT

Jansen played RT so im not sure he can play LT

peterman was signed to a 5 year deal a few months ago

and Loper was all but told he would be a starter if he followed HC

I like it. This signing has really gone under the radar. He might even be tried at LG.

good depth signing, especially considering they're only paying the vet minimum.
