The Detroit Lions finalized their roster on Saturday after releasing 21 players.

The team released guards Rodney Austin and Jake Scott, running backs Shaun Chapas and Steven Miller, wide receivers Corey Fuller and Matt Willis, tackle Kevin Haslam, and center Darren Keyton from the offense.

Cornerbacks Ron Bartell and Chris Greenwood, defensive tackles Andre Fluellen, Ogemdi Nwagbuo, Xavier Proctor and Jimmy Saddler-McQueen, linebackers Brandon Hepburn, Chris White and Jon Morgan, safeties Tyrell Johnson and Amari Spievey and free safety Martavius Neloms were cut from the defense.

Spievey was a third-round pick of the Lions in 2010 and had started 26 games over three seasons.

Also, punter Blake Clingan was released as he lost out on the job to Sam Martin, who the team drafted in the fifth round of this year's draft.
