With 4th-and-5 on the Pittsburgh 10-yard line and a 27-23 lead early in the fourth quarter, Lions coach Jim Schwartz opted to run a fake field goal. A highly questionable play call and a poor understanding of the weather conditions made the fake a dubious decision. “It had to do with trying to make the plays to win the game. We didn’t make it. But, look, you could say whatever you want,†Schwartz said. “Y’all say whatever you want about me, OK. “Don’t say I’m scared. Cause we ain’t, OK. This team is going to be aggressive. We’re going to play our very best. We didn’t play well enough to win this game, OK. But it’s not because we’re passive or anything.†Source: ESPN.com SteveRobWhatever's Take: The game changed completely after this play. Jim Schwartz owes it to his team to give them the best chance to win a game, and he let them down today. They had a chance to take a big lead in the NFC North and instead couldn't get out of their own way.
So you're not scared, Jim. You proved that.....and you lost you stupid crap. What in the hell does calling a play that failed have to do with being tough?
I can't really bash Jim Schwartz for this play. IF the fake FG would have worked, he would have looked like the smartest person in Heinz Field. Seeing the fake FG didn't work, he looks like the dumbest person in Heinz Field.
