Lions head coach Jim Schwartz said the coaches gained a greater appreciation for offensive guard Stephen Peterman's value when they watched video from the whole season. "When you watch him early in the season, you say, 'Wow, we really missed him," Schwartz said. Peterman suffered an ankle injury Nov. 15 at Minnesota, and his absence made things more difficult for right tackle Gosder Cherilus, a 2008 first-round pick who's still developing. "That was a big loss because we didn't have a whole lot of depth," Schwartz said. "When we lost Stephen, Gosder lost a veteran player who was next to him, and then all of a sudden, our continuity was derailed a little bit." Source: Detroit Free Press
