The Lions may have interest in trading for Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth. Lions coach Jim Schwartz was Haynesworth's defensive coordinator in Tennessee for his first seven NFL seasons. And with most draft analysts predicting Detroit will select a defensive tackle, either Nebraska's Ndamukong Suh or Oklahoma's Gerald McCoy with the No. 2 overall pick, it's clearly a position of need for the team. i mean if you trade for haynesworth and still draft suh, no one will be gashing you in the run game anymore. they would probably just take okung though
that would be epic for the lions if they got haynesworth and drafted another excellent DT, everyone knows Detroits D has been lacking the past few years....... If they could get haynesworth (I doubt it though) it would be a good move......
honestly they would have a monster 4 man front or a monster 3 man one. 43 would be avril, haynesworth, suh, white with simms, levy and (dizon?) and delmas and chris houston. 34 would be even better to put haynesworth and suh at end and SLH at NT. that would be the strongest line in the league
Unless the Redskins agree to still pay SOME of Haynesworth's salary should he be traded to the Lions, I don't see this trade happening.
he just got a 21 million dollar roster bonus....it was essentially a 48 million dollar deal, thats a big chunk lol
WTF how would the Lions be expected to have two DTs with two of the biggest contracts in the league(presumably), ANDStafford? This is just nonsense that they would pick up Haynesworth and still draft Suh. Absolute nonsense.
the Ford family has lots of money to throw around....... remember they own FORD so they got money rolling in all over the place. Granted the economy sucks but they still have money to spend..... I am sure if they needed they could afford haynesworth if they really wanted him.... like I said I doubt this trade will happen though.
