Watch out, Chicago. Detroit Lions defensive lineman Israel Idonije wants a little payback.

In his first interview since signing a one-year deal with the Lions last week, Idonije told the NFL Network today that one of his main incentives to play for Detroit was so that he could stay in the NFC North and face the team he spent the past nine years with.

Idonije said going against Chicago quarterback Jay Cutler had nothing to do with it.

“Not at all,†he said. “I love Jay. I’ve been with him a lot of years and seen do a lot of great things. It’s more about just the opportunity to go and play the team that I’d been with for so long. So it’s not personally against one player.

“But I’m looking forward to twice a year dressing up, suiting up and getting after it on the field when we play the Bears in Detroit and then in Chicago. So it’s nothing focused on one player but just really showing a great product on the field, especially when we play those teams.â€

You know, with that offense line, Jay is probably worried a little

Not the same pieces on that o-line like last year. Atleast a few of them anyway.

As dysfunctional as the Lions have been may come back & bite Israel right on the butt when things are all said & done.

Also, all the sacks Izzy got the past 3 seasons mainly came when Peppers was double teamed.

well yeah, why wouldnt they have? Its ok for a player to produce under those circumstances, its more not ok if they cant produce
