Detroit Lions defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch is organizing off-season player workouts, Carlos Monarrez of the Detroit Free Press reports. Vanden Bosch, who joined the Lions last off-season, also serves as the Lions' union rep. Veteran kicker Jason Hanson is the only co-alternate currently on the team after the Lions released linebacker Julian Peterson on March 3. Surgery to fuse two vertebrae in his spinal column ended his 2010 season after 49 tackles and 4 quarterback sacks in 11 games. The 32-year old is lining up gyms for his teammates to workout during a potential lockout. "We were in a lot of close games," Vanden Bosch said of the 2010 Lions, who lost five games by 5 points or less. "For us to win those last four games and feel confident and more importantly go out and win some close games, I think it was huge; not just for the way we ended the season, but for confidence going forward. I think we'll do a lot more next year as well." Source: macsfootballblog
