With Carolina quarterback Cam Newton coming to town Sunday, this probably isn't the best week for the Lions to have some ailing defensive linemen. But defensive ends Willie Young (ankle) and Lawrence Jackson (thigh) missed practice for the second straight day Thursday. Also, defensive tackle Nick Fairley was limping noticeably through the stretching and individual drills. He has been fighting soreness in his surgically-repaired foot the past three weeks.
