Lions defensive end Ezekiel Ansah left the field during the opening minutes of Sunday's practice with a towel draped over his head, one day after taking a hard shot from offensive lineman Leroy Harris.

Jim Schwartz was asked three times during his post-practice press conference if Ansah was concussed, but the Lions coach declined to offer any answers.

"I don't have any comments on anybody's physical condition," Schwartz said. "We don't have to give any injury reports right now on anything going into the season, particularly this late. I think it's a competitive thing."

Schwartz also declined to provide reporters with a refresher on the league's concussion protocol.

On Saturday, Ansah was blasted by Harris during full-team drills. The rookie immediately came to the sideline, removed his helmet, took a knee and was seen rubbing his face.
