Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford could miss as much as six weeks after suffering an injury to his throwing shoulder in the season opener against the Chicago Bears. Bears defensive end Julius Peppers knocked Stafford out of the game with a shot that also caused a fumble. Stafford will undergo an MRI and have X-rays taken Monday morning back in Detroit according to Mike Florio at PFT. While he could miss up to six weeks, there is a belief that he could also return in as little as two-to-three weeks. The good news for Detroit is that their fears are "all speculation at this point." Stafford was 11-of-15 passing for 83 yards before he was injured.
