Running back Kevin Smith hopes to return Sunday at Chicago after leaving the Lions’ 19-14 victory over Washington with a shoulder injury. “I’m alive,” Smith said today. “I’m not ready to play if we had to play a game tomorrow, and that’s just probably because of the general soreness. But I’m 22 years old. I usually heal pretty fast. I don’t have any bone damage or anything like that.” Asked if it was just a bruise, Smith said: “I don’t know yet. I’m about to go walk in there and find out. I haven’t gotten my results yet. But they say I’m not out of it, so that’s a good sign.” Smith said his goal was to get back to practice Wednesday. He said he needs at least a couple of days of practice to feel prepared for a game. Source: Detroit Free Press
yes, i'm confused. i thought i had heard he was going to be out for an extended period. i need some clarification on this.
^Yes, he had a knee injury but it wasnt significant at all, minor or at least it hasnt held him back, after already playing with the knee injury, he injured his shoulder which was thought to be bad because he couldnt move his arm, but this can be deceiving as when you bruise your shoulder in the right place it goes down to the bone and you cant lift it, somewhat like after you get a tetenis shot, so after the bruising goes down your fine. if he practices wednesday u can put your money that it was just a deep bruise and he will play this week, throw in the fact this guy is an animal and only wants to get better and play i can bet he will be on the field.
